Arthritis Sleep Study

Are you a good sleeper or do you have difficulty sleeping? We would like to inform you of a survey that researchers at the University of British Columbia, McGill University, and Arthritis Research Canada, are conducting to learn more about sleep in persons with arthritis. The survey results will help tailor an online cognitive-behavioral program to help individuals with arthritis improve their sleep. We hope you will be interested in participating. The more people we hear from, the better we will be able to tailor the program to meet the needs and desires of people with arthritis and sleep difficulties.

The survey will ask you questions about your sleep (how you manage your sleep, your preferences as to how a program can help you improve your sleep and your beliefs about sleep), as well as questions about your characteristics, arthritis, mental health, COVID19 and lifestyle behaviors. The survey is expected to take you 20-30 minutes.

The survey is completely anonymous, meaning your responses are not linked to your name, email or IP address and we will not be able to discover your identity. All information you provide will be treated as strictly confidential and used for research purposes only. The study results will be housed in a Canadian survey system, Qualtrics, and on a secure encrypted server at Arthritis Research Canada.

You are eligible to complete the survey if you:

  • Have been told by your doctor that you have arthritis (any type of arthritis, including but not limited to rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, juvenile inflammatory arthritis, gout, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other spondyloarthropathies)
  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Have access to the internet
  • Live in Canada
  • Are able to read and write in French or English.
