Meet our newest Support Group leader, Rob!

Spondyloarthropathies can be painful and debilitating leaving people feeling alone and isolated. The Canadian Spondylitis Association is pleased to announce that in March we will be offering a new online support group in Manitoba led by Robbie Raposo who lives with Ankylosing Spondylitis(AS). If you are interested in joining the Manitoba support group,  complete the form below and be connected with Robbie! Learn more about Robbie and his journey:

Rob Raposso

My name is Robbie Raposo, I’m 41 years old, and last year I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis.

My AS symptoms started in my teens, but got much worse throughout my 30’s. In February of 2021, my flare ups and my overall condition got so bad that my doctor took me off work. Each day I seemed to get worse and worse. I started researching everything I could and I found some great reports, books and documentaries that had been released over the last couple of years. I’ve created a new diet and lifestyle, lost 40 pounds, my psoriasis has completely cleared up and I am currently not taking any painkillers or biological medications. I’m back at work now and haven’t had a flare up in months. I found it very tough to uncover some of the research. I’m hoping to spread awareness about spondyloarthritis and be part of a group helping each other, with not only sharing each other’s stories, but helping each other with resources and support.

Don’t live in Manitoba but are interested in joining an existing support group or starting one in your own city/town?
