World AS Day , observed globally on May 4th, is dedicated to those affected by Axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpA), a chronic condition causing severe back pain, fatigue, and inflammation. It often takes about 10 years to receive a diagnosis. Across various countries, those living with AxSpA and volunteers organize events to raise awareness. Learn about the remarkable contributions of our community and how they inspire hope for a brighter future!!

Arundo Expedition

From Ottawa to Percé, Charlène Dupasquier and her team will cross the Quebec countryside covering 2,200 km and 30,000 m of elevation gain, beginning April 23rd. The goal is multifaceted – to reconnect with one’s environment, to show that movement and the outdoors are valuable remedies for autoimmune diseases, to promote physical and mental health, and to fundraise for the CSA to help thousands of Canadians affected by autoimmune diseases.

Electrify A.S.

This spring, Tyler J. Ashton is setting out to ride his bike across Canada and back all to raise funds and awareness for A.S. In his words, “My goal/hope is by daring to do something great and perhaps a little unorthodox with a touch of irrationality given my condition, that I am able to provide a space and opportunity so that funds and awareness can be raised for AS and the Canadian Spondyloarthritis Association (CSA).

Walk Your A.S. Off

Walk Your A.S. Off is an annual, global community event to get moving and raise awareness for axial spondyloarthritis. Anyone can participate, and all steps count – you can choose to walk, cycle, swim or participate in a yoga or fitness class. Join a team or create your own! Log your activity, and rally your friends and family to support you online! This “virtual” event brings people & teams together from all over the globe, showing that a small group of people can take great strides to change the world.

Let’s Get Loud for A.S.

Michael Santillo’s annual gala serves as a platform to raise funds for A.S. research, support programs, and community initiatives. Each year, Michael and his team work tirelessly to organize an unforgettable evening. More than just a fundraiser, the gala is a celebration of resilience, hope, and solidarity.

This annual gala has not only raised awareness about A.S. but has also inspired countless individuals to speak up, seek support, and embrace hope in the face of adversity.
